The LiveTrack has no external GPS or GSM/mobile phone network antennas so it can be installed pretty much anywhere. People who you have given permission to share the tracking of your car or boat or? can only view where the tracker is at the present time – they cannot set a Geofence or view History or turn on your Parking Monitor or change any other settings … only you as the primary owner can do that! This can only be done by sharing your tracker’s unique number and password, safeguarding you from anyone else being able to track it. You can even share your trackers location with others so multiple people will know where the tracker is located at anytime. When you park your car or boat you can also activate the Parking Monitor and, you will receive an alert on your phone as soon as your tracker starts moving! You can add an unlimited number of trackers to your phone app, so you rest assured knowing all of your vehicles/toys are accounted for. You can set up a Geofence or virtual boundary so that you will be alerted if the tracker goes out of that boundary. You can also view where the tracker has been on previous days using the Location History feature.

Using the free iCar App, your Android phone or iPhone will allow you to see where the tracker is located. The LiveTrack uses GPS satellites to determine the exact location of the tracker and then uses the mobile phone network to transfer that location data directly to your smartphone. With the latest software update, the Broadcast Dog Data menu will come up. The Alpha 100, Astro 430 and Drivetrack 71 can be updated via Garmin Express App from a computer (windows system) and Garmin Web Updater software for T5, TT15, T5 mini, TT15 mini collars.

It can be also upgraded to the full Topo map and Birds Eye Satellite Imagery When tracking with the Garmin Alpha/Astro dog tracker, the Drivetrack 71 shows multiple dogs’ location, status, direction of moving and speed from the outdoor maps (Topo and Birds Eye).
The Drivetrack 71 has preloaded city turn by turn navigator map and Topo lite map which can be used on road or off road. With the bigger and brighter display, you will be able to see your dogs’ status much easier when on the move.
